Bollywood drama in mid Wales
An ambitious project by a local film company is planning to introduce Bollywood drama to young people in mid Wales with help from an award by The Peter Saunders Trust.
Mid Wales based Film 15 has secured the services of Bollywood actor Mayur Raj Verma and director/writer SnehLataVerma to work on a project teaching acting, dancing and costume to 80 school children based within 10 miles of Tywyn. The project will also involve the youngsters learning about film making - from production planning to post-production editing - as well as creating and taking part in a short film.
Film 15 approached The Peter Saunders Trust for assistance with the cost of running this ambitious project. The Trustees were impressed by the results the company had achieved running similar projects in previous years, and were pleased to make an award.
“It is an imaginative and visionary project,” said Peter Saunders. “And one which offers young people the opportunity to learn about film, cinematography, drama, dance and media in a way which is not generally on offer in a rural area such as this.”
