A wildlife garden in Bryncrug
A donation from the Trust has assisted YsgolGynraddBryncrug in establishing a wildlife garden in the grounds of the school.
A group of children from the school designed the garden and then approached local people and businesses for help in purchasing the materials needed to create the garden. The children applied to The Peter Saunders Trust for an award to buy benches, fencing and a gate. The Trustees were pleased to make an award for this, and made a further award to purchase a storage shed.
Iona Wyn Jones, headteacher of the school said: “We were delighted to receive the award from the Trust. The children had great fun designing the garden and are now looking forward to developing it. And we can help the children develop an understanding of nature and environmental issues.”
